AMSTERDAM, Sept 28 (Reuters) - The Financial Stability Forum (FSF) is bringing forward a news conference by chairman Mario Draghi to Monday instead of Tuesday as originally scheduled, the group said in a statement on Sunday.

The FSF, a group including central banks, supervisors and government treasury departments, is holding meetings in Amsterdam on Monday and Tuesday in a long-scheduled session that has gained significance due to the current market turmoil.

The FSF did not give a reason for bringing forward the news conference and a representative of the group was not immediately available for comment.

The meeting is set to begin after a tense weekend for troubled Belgian-Dutch financial group Fortis (FOR.BR), which is under discussion among Belgian and Dutch financial regulators and top bankers because of a sharp selloff in its shares due to market concerns over its liquidity and funding. [nLS251193] The Dutch central bank confirmed it would host the meeting, which will include its governor, Nout Wellink.
