UPDATE 1-FLIR Q4 profit up, sees FY08 results above market view

Feb 7 (Reuters) - Thermal imaging and infra-red camera maker FLIR Systems Inc (FLIR.O) posted a 17 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by strong demand across all its three divisions, and set fiscal 2008 outlook above analysts' average estimate.

The Wilsonville, Oregon-based company reported a fourth-quarter net income of $46.6 million, or 30 cents a share, compared with $39.8 million, or 26 cents a share, a year ago.

Revenue rose 31 percent to $242.6 million, boosted by a 33 percent rise in revenue from the company's government systems division, its largest revenue contributor.

Analysts on average were expecting the company to earn 30 cents a share, excluding items, on revenue of $232.8 million, according to Reuters Estimates.

The company sees 2008 earnings of $1.13 to $1.20 a share, on revenue of $1 billion to $1.05 billion.

Analysts were looking for a profit of $1.12 a share, excluding exceptional items, on revenue of $952.0 million.

FLIR shares, which have more than doubled their value in the last one year, closed at $31.85 Wednesday on the Nasdaq. (Reporting by Savio D'Souza in Bangalore; Editing by Himani Sarkar)
