BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)

Former Bank of America investment strategist Richard Bernstein is launching an investment firm, according to CNBC.

UBS (UBSN.VX)

UBS has had talks to hire senior wealth management executives including former Merrill Lynch wealth management head Robert McCann and former Citigroup executive Sallie Krawcheck, according to the Wall Street Journal.

BANK OF AMERICA CORP (BAC.N)

Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the investment banking unit of the largest U.S. bank, has hired Sanaz Zaimi in a dual role as head of fixed income, currencies and commodities sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as head of debt and equity structured products sales for the same regions. Zaimi joins from Goldman Sachs Group (GS.N), where she was a partner and co-head of structured sales for Europe.

SPROTT MOLYBDENUM PARTICIPATION CORP (MLY.TO)

The investment holding company named Darryl Coates as chief executive officer, replacing Eric Sprott. Coates is presently a corporate consultant providing financial and management expertise to mining, oil and gas, and other companies.

The company also named David McGoey as the chief financial officer, replacing Iryna Gordiyenko. McGoey has been the CFO at CMQ Resources Inc (NV.V) since 2003.

HONGKONG AND SHANGHAI BANKING CORP LTD (HSBA.L)

The bank named Iain Mackay as chief financial officer for its Asia Pacific operations, effective Sept. 1. Mackay succeeds Edgar Ancona, who will take up Mackay's position as chief financial officer of HSBC's North American operations.

Mackay joined HSBC in July 2007 as senior executive vice president and CFO for North America, while Ancona was appointed to the role of the CFO of HSBC Asia Pacific in 2006.

SAXO BANK

The online trading and investment specialist named Michael Schmeja as global head of derivatives sales. Schmeja would be based in the company's headquarters at Copenhagen.
