India's Sun Pharma gets FDA nod for generic Cerebyx

MUMBAI, March 19 (Reuters) - India's Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (SUN.BO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said on Wednesday it had received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for fosphenytoin sodium injection.

The drug, a generic variant of Pfizer Inc's (PFE.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) Cerebyx, is indicated in the control of certain types of convulsions and for seizures during neurosurgery, Sun said in a statement.

The drug has annual sales of about $15 million, it said. (Reporting by Rina Chandran; Editing by Mark Williams)
