BRUSSELS, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Ukraine's Naftogaz said on Thursday that negotiations with Russian gas firm Gazprom (GAZP.MM) over their pricing dispute were moving in a positive direction.

Naftogaz head Oleh Dubyna and Gazprom Chief Executive Alexei Miller held a brief conference call on Thursday morning aimed at solving the row, which has cut Russian gas supplies to Europe and angered the European Union.

"They are meeting by conference call every day many times. We expect that everything is going in a progressive, positive direction," Igor Didenko, deputy head of Naftogaz, told reporters. (Reporting by Huw Jones, editing by Dale Hudson)
