ANKARA, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday sharp falls in the lira currency, which is trading at a 19-month low against the dollar, was not a concern and was temporary.

"I am not concerned about the weakening level of the lira in the floating exchange (rate) system," Erdogan told a news conference broadcast live on television. "I think this is a temporary situation."
