Glaxo says Advair sales to top 4 bln pounds in 2008
LONDON, May 21 (Reuters) - GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK.L), the world's second-largest drugs company by turnover, said sales of its asthma drug Advair would top 4 billion pounds ($7.9 billion) this year.
"We are going to break 4 billion of sales this year with Advair," outgoing Chief Executive Jean-Pierre Garnier told shareholders at the company's annual meeting.
Advair is Glaxo's top selling drug, and had global sales of 3.5 billion pounds in 2007. ($1=.5088 Pound) (Reporting by Ben Hirschler, editing by Will Waterman)
