Denmark's TDC starts free music downloads

COPENHAGEN, March 31 (Reuters) - Denmark's leading telecoms operator TDC (TDC.CO) said on Monday it would offer free music downloads to its mobile phone and broadband Internet customers in cooperation with three major record labels.

EMI, Warner Music (WMG.N) and Sony BMG (6758.T)BERT.UL have signed up for the service along with several small Danish labels.

The service, dubbed PLAY, will offer access to 1 million songs for free, TDC said. (Reporting by Jens Schnabel, writing by Gelu Sulugiuc; Editing by Paul Bolding)
