Hungary gas imports via Ukraine down significantly
BUDAPEST, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Hungarian imports of Russian gas via Ukraine are down significantly on Tuesday, more than the 20 percent drop recorded on Monday, Istvan Kutas, a spokesman for E.ON (EONGn.DE)'s wholesaler unit told Reuters.
Kutas said the shortfall can be covered from gas storage facilities and there was no need to place restrictions on consumers.
Hungary received 30 million cubic metres of Russian gas via Ukraine on Monday, below the 38 million contracted level. The country will consume around 68-70 million cubic metres on Tuesday and storage facilities have capacity to pump 55 million cubic metres into the network per day, Kutas said.
