ETFS Silver Trust issues silver-backed shares on NYSE

LONDON, July 23 (Reuters) - The ETFS Silver Trust has issued shares backed by physical silver SIVR to be traded on the New York Stock Exchange, a notice on the Securities and Exchange Commission website said.

The trust, which is sponsored by ETF Securities USA LLC, sold 100,000 shares to an initial purchaser on July 20, the SEC said, which will be delivered on July 24.

ETF Securities USA is affiliated to London-based ETF Securities, which operates a string of commodities-backed exchange traded funds from London and Australia.
