(Adds shipments unaffected)

ALMATY, Feb 27 (Reuters) - Kazakh crude shipments to Russia have not been affected by the partial suspension of a key pipeline following an oil leak, its operator said on Friday.

Caspian Pipeline Consortium ships crude from some of Kazakhstan's biggest oilfields such as Tengiz to the Russian port of Novorossiisk.

"The suspension... has not affected CPC export shipments thanks to the use of reservoir facilities," the Chevron-led (CVX.N) pipeline group said in a statement.

Kazakhstan's Emergency Ministry said earlier on Friday that part of the pipeline was halted after an oil leak from the Kazakh section of the pipeline a day earlier.

"We are not sure whether the pipeline would be switched on today," a ministry official said by telephone from Atyrau where the pipeline starts.

The U.S. Chevron-led pipeline group includes Russian pipeline company Transneft (TRNF_p.RTS), ExxonMobil (XOM.N), Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L), BP (BP.L) and LUKOIL (LKOH.MM).

Russian companies such as Rosneft (ROSN.MM), Surgutneftegas (SNGS.MM) and TNK-BP (TNBPI.RTS) also ship crude via CPC.

State shareholders Russia and Kazakhstan own 31 percent and 19 percent in CPC respectively. (Writing by Olzhas Auyezov, Editing by Peter Blackburn)
