HELSINKI, Oct 27 (Reuters) - The Nordic countries are ready to help Iceland in battling a financial crisis and have decided to set up a working group to look at the issue, Sweden's prime minister said on Monday.

Fredrik Reinfeldt, speaking after a meeting of the Nordic states, said the working group would look at Iceland's needs after a planned loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), but he was not sure how much the Nordic states would pledge.

"I do not have that amount today," he told a news conference, saying this would be the job of the group.

Iceland has said it needs $4 billion to add to $2 billion expected from the IMF. (Reporting by Patrick Lannin and Sakari Suoninen; editing by Stephen Nisbet)
