Ukraine C.Bank says enables payment of gas debt
KIEV, Dec 30 (Reuters) - Ukraine's central bank has taken measures to ensure payment of Kiev's arrears for Russian gas, the bank said on Tuesday.
"The central bank has taken the required measures to enable Naftogaz to complete payments for imported gas," the bank said in a statement.
An official order made public earlier said the Ukrainian government had authorised state energy company Naftogaz to borrow $2 billion from state banks to settle all arrears as talks on 2009 gas supplies proceeded in Moscow.
