KIEV, Dec 31 (Reuters) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is to fly to Moscow shortly to try to resolve a gas dispute with Russia before a deadline to cut Ukraine from supplies, a source close to the negotiations said.

Gazprom had said earlier that the dispute over debts and prices needed political intervention in order to reach a resolution. The potential cut in its supplies to Ukraine as of Jan. 1 could affect European consumers.
