MADRID, July 6 (Reuters) - A Spanish law firm said on Monday it was preparing a complaint against Swiss bank Julius Baer (BAER.VX) over the sale to Spanish investors of funds placed with convicted U.S. fraudster Bernard Madoff.

The complaint, to be presented to Spanish regulatory authorities, will allege that Julius Baer did not have the necessary licence for operating in Spain, said lawyers from firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo at a news conference in Madrid.
