MEXICO CITY, July 6 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks sank on Monday, hurt by losses in America Movil (AMXL.MX), Latin America's top wireless operator, and copper miner Grupo Mexico (GMEXICOB.MX).

The IPC stock index .MXX fell 1.04 percent to 23,794 as investors sold emerging market assets due to eroding optimism about an improvement in the global economy. (Reporting by Michael O'Boyle; Editing by James Dalgleish)
