Devon sees 73 TCF of gas in its Haynesville acres
HOUSTON, Aug 6 (Reuters) - Devon Energy Corp (DVN.N) said on Wednesday early estimates put the amount of gas in place in its Haynesville Shale acreage at 73 trillion cubic feet.
However, more drilling and testing will be needed to gauge the acreage's potential, Steve Hadden, head of exploration and production at Devon, told analysts on a conference call to discuss the company's second-quarter results.
Devon has 483,000 net acres in the Haynesville Shale in east Texas and northern Louisiana.
The company also told investors it now expects 2008 production of 240 million to 244 million barrels oil equivalent, up 2 million barrels from its prior forecast. (Reporting by Anna Driver; editing by John Wallace)
