Conoco shuts a sulfur train at Borger, reducing rates
NEW YORK, Nov 13 (Reuters) - ConocoPhillips said it shut down a sulfur train at the Borger, Texas refinery to repair a control valve, reducing rates for about a day to the sulfur recovery unit beginning Thursday, according to a filing made late Wednesday with state regulators.
The filing made with the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality said that shutdown was expected to take 24 hours and occur between Thursday and next Monday.
The 146,000 barrel per day refinery, which is owned by Canadian oil sands producer EnCana Corp. and ConocoPhillips, has been running at reduced rates as work on other process units including the coker continue, a ConocoPhillips spokesman said earlier.
