LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Domino's Pizza Inc (DPZ.N) on Monday said it would begin selling oven-baked sandwiches, the latest move by a pizza delivery company to expand its menu in a bid to boost sluggish U.S. sales.

Domino's said the sandwiches sell for $4.99 and are available nationwide.

Pizza sellers, which have been wrestling with weak domestic demand and higher costs for key ingredients like cheese and wheat, have been expanding their menus beyond just pizza.

Domino's, the largest independent U.S. pizza chain, and its competitors Pizza Hut and Papa John's International Inc (PZZA.O) already sell a variety of breadsticks and chicken wings.

Pizza Hut, a unit of Yum Brands Inc (YUM.N), earlier this year added pans of pasta to its menu.
