UPDATE 1-Southern Copper declares 3-for-1 stock split

LIMA,_June 19 (Reuters) - Southern Copper (PCU.N)(SPC.LM), one of the world's largest copper producers, declared a three- for-one split of its common stock on Thursday, the company said.

The split will boost the number of shares outstanding to 884,596,086 from about 294,865,362, the company said.

New shares will be distributed on July 10 to shareholders of record on June 30.

Why Geithner will stay
