Too soon for fiscal stimulus in Canada - official
OTTAWA, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Next week is too soon for Canada to have a fiscal stimulus plan in place, a senior government official said on Thursday, saying Ottawa wanted to work in coordination with others on any such package.
"There's a desire to act in a coordinated fashion," the official told reporters on condition he not be identified. "I think to move prematurely would not be prudent at this time."
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty is scheduled to release an economic and fiscal update next week, but he said on Wednesday new stimulus measures would likely not come until next year. (Reporting by Randall Palmer; Editing by Peter Galloway)
