Switch & Data files $300 mln mixed shelf offering

WASHINGTON, July 25 (Reuters) - Switch & Data Facilities Co Inc (SDXC.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) said it may periodically sell up to $300 million in common and preferred stock, debt securities and warrants.

According to a shelf filing made on Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said selling stockholders may sell an additional 12.3 million shares.

Under a shelf registration, a company may sell securities in one or more separate offerings with the size, price and terms to be determined at the time of sale. (Reporting by John Poirier; Editing by Tim Dobbyn)
