Lockheed, Boeing rocket venture wins $124 mln deal
WASHINGTON, March 31 (Reuters) - A joint venture formed by Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N) and Boeing Co (BA.N) won a $124 million contract to launch a first new tactical communications satellite, the Pentagon said on Monday.
Under the contract, United Launch Alliance will use an Atlas V rocket to launch the new satellite under the Air Force's Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle program.
The satellite is the first Mobile Users Objective System (MUOS)-1 Satellite. (Reporting by Andrea Shalal-Esa, Editing by Toni Reinhold)
