NY Fed buying Treasuries on Monday

NEW YORK, July 6 (Reuters) - The New York Federal Reserve said on Monday it was buying Treasuries maturing from December 2013 through April 2016.

The operation, part of the Fed's $300 billion Treasury purchase program to lower borrowing costs, began at 10:15 a.m. (1415 GMT) and will finish at 11 a.m. (1500 GMT), the New York Fed said. (Reporting by Chris Reese; Editing by James Dalgleish)
