STOCKHOLM, Oct 8 (Reuters) - Volvo Car Corporation, owned by U.S. automaker Ford Motor Co (F.N), said on Wednesday it plans to shed 3,300 jobs in addition to cuts announced earlier this year.

A spokeswoman for the company, which is grappling with weak market demand and surging raw material costs, said 2,700 jobs would be cut in Sweden while 600 would be shed in the company's operations abroad.

The measures come on top of a reduction by 2,000 jobs announced in June.
