S.Korea's Kia cut overseas production - officials
SEOUL, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Kia Motors Corp (000270.KS), South Korea's No.2 automaker, has been cutting production at its overseas factories as global recession is bites into auto demand around the world, company officials said on Wednesday.
"Since late October, we have been adjusting production volumes at plants in China and Slovakia. It is silly to maintain full capacity, given the current tough situation," a company official told Reuters by telephone, asking not to be identified.
The official declined to provide details on the size of production cuts. (Reporting by Cheon Jong-woo; Editing by Keiron Henderson)
