Ford says H1 China vehicle sales up 14 pct yr/yr

SHANGHAI, July 21 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co (F.N) said its vehicle sales in China rose 14 percent to 197,212 units in the first half from a year earlier.

Changan Ford Mazda, a tie-up with Chongqing Changan Auto Co (000625.SZ) and Mazda Motor (7261.T) sold 140,386 cars in the first six month, up 20 percent from a year earlier, it said in a statement.

Sales of its all new Fiesta compact car, launched in March, came to 18,224 units during the period, while monthly sales of its mid-range Focus sedan averaged more than 10,000 units, it said.

Jiangling Motors Corp Ltd (000550.SZ)(200550.SZ), a commercial vehicle maker partly owned by Ford, sold a record of 53,327 vehicles during the period, including 14,210 Ford Transit models, it added without providing comparative figures. (Reporting by Fang Yan and Jacqueline Wong)
