Australia's central bank raises rates to 3.5 pct

SYDNEY, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Australia's central bank increased its key cash rate by a quarter of a percentage point to 3.5 percent on Tuesday, a widely expected decision given growing evidence of strength in the economy.

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) made the announcement following its monthly policy meeting. (Reporting by Wayne Cole, editing by Jonathan Standing)
