Honda recalls 581,000 minicars in Japan
TOKYO, Sept 4 (Reuters) - Honda Motor Co (7267.T) said on Thursday it was recalling 581,353 minivehicles in Japan to fix a faulty fuel pump that could, in the worst-case scenario, cause the engine to stop.
Subject to the recall are the Acty, Vamos, Life, Zest and two other 660cc minivehicle models built between December 2005 and August 2007. Japan's second-biggest automaker estimates the recall will cost 8.6 billion yen ($79.5 million), a spokeswoman said. The cars are only sold in Japan.
No accidents were reported due to the defect. ($1=108.11 Yen) (Reporting by Chang-Ran Kim)
