TOKYO, July 10 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average closed the morning session little changed Friday, giving back earlier gains as caution prevailed over upcoming corporate earnings and economic indicators.

The benchmark Nikkei .N225 fell 3.6 points to 9,287.46 after initially rising as high as 9,370.15 as the yen's rapid advance stalled.

The broader Topix declined 0.2 percent to 872.11. (Reporting by Shinichi Saoshiro)
