TOKYO, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Japan's top four electronics makers
and videogame creator Nintendo Co Ltd (7974.OS: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) report results
for the July-September quarter later this week and next week.
Following are the mean consensus forecasts for quarterly
operating profit and the full business year compiled by Reuters
Estimates, as well as the companies' own estimates for the year.
Figures are in billions of yen.
Numbers in parentheses after the company name show the number
of analysts' forecasts used to calculate the consensus for the
quarter. Those after figures are percentage changes from a year
earlier.
Sony Corp (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), Canon Inc (7751.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), Sharp Corp (6753.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz)
and Nintendo report on Thursday, followed by Panasonic maker
Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd (6752.T: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) on Oct. 30.
The business year ends next March 31 for Sony, Sharp,
Nintendo and Matsushita, while Canon closes its book on Dec. 31.
A quarterly consensus forecast for Sharp is not listed below
since the company announced on Monday that its operating profit
likely totalled 79 billion yen in the six months to September,
which would effectively put its July-September profit at around
36.7 billion yen, down 26 percent from a year earlier.
