TOKYO, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Financial Services Agency Commissioner Takafumi Sato said on Monday he had not received any request from the United States to set up a scheme to absorb bad mortgage debt.
He also said each country should make its own decisions on how to deal with the credit crisis depending on market conditions and the state of the financial sector.
The U.S. government and Congress are in talks on a $700 billion bailout to prevent the crisis from pushing the economy into severe recession. (Reporting by Hideyuki Sano)
