WASHINGTON, Sept 25 (Reuters) - The Bush administration and Congress are still working to hammer out a deal on a plan to buy up distressed assets from financial companies, two aides to Democratic congressional leaders said on Thursday.

"Still working on it," Jim Manley, a spokesman for Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, told reporters after a meeting at the White House. "Still have a lot of issues to be worked on."

"Working on it," said Brendan Daly, spokesman for House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi. (Reporting by Tim Ahmann)
