Infineon sees extra weakness in wireless orders
FRANKFURT, Feb 7 (Reuters) - Infineon (IFXGn.DE) is seeing more of a dip in order intake for wireless chips than is normal for the time of year, its chief executive said after the company forecast a loss at its phone-chips unit for this quarter.
"As far as our order entry is concerned, we do see a stronger weakness than the typical seasonal behaviour," Wolfgang Ziebart said on a conference call for analysts monitored by Reuters by telephone on Thursday.
"We do have in wireless several customers and we see in the guidance of all the customers some weakness for this quarter."
