Atticus says Deutsche Boerse stake exceeds 11 pct
FRANKFURT (Reuters) - U.S. financial investor Atticus Capital said on Friday its stake in Deutsche Boerse "is in excess of 11 percent" at present.
The information was given by an Atticus spokesman in response to a Reuters question after Atticus, among the biggest owners of the German stock exchange operator, said in a statement it had bought more shares in the company over the past month.
"We have not sold Deutsche Boerse shares, and in fact have added to our position over the past month. We continue to support and commend the management team at Deutsche Boerse in their efforts to create shareholder value," Atticus Chairman and Chief Executive Timothy Barakett said in the statement.
The spokesman told Reuters that most of Atticus's stake was inm the form of direct share ownership and the rest through derivatives. He declined to give detailed figures.
