Aeropostale posts higher quarterly net profit

LOS ANGELES, Aug 23 (Reuters) - Teen retailer Aeropostale Inc (ARO.N) said on Thursday its second-quarter net profit rose, helped by lower costs.

Quarterly net profit was $14.7 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with $8.4 million, or 10 cents per share, a year earlier.

Wall Street analysts, on average, had been expecting earnings of 19 cents per share, according to Reuters Estimates. (Reporting by Nichola Groom)
