Costco December total same-store sales up 7 pct

NEW YORK, Jan 10 (Reuters) - Costco Wholesale Corp (COST.O) on Thursday reported a 7 percent rise in total same-store sales in December compared with the same month a year earlier.

Comparable sales in the United States rose 5 percent from the same period a year earlier.

Costco reported net sales of $7.55 billion in the five weeks ended January 6, 2008, up 10 percent from a year earlier. (Reporting by Ritsuko Ando)
