Toyota August U.S. auto sales down 9.4 percent

DETROIT (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T)(TM.N) said on Wednesday its U.S. auto sales fell 9.4 percent in August, led by a 16.4 percent drop in truck sales.

Sales declined to 211,533 vehicles in August from 233,471 vehicles a year earlier, Toyota said.

Toyota brand sales fell 9.4 percent, while sales were down 9.1 percent in its luxury Lexus brand.
