DETROIT, July 1 (Reuters) - McDonald’s Corp (MCD.N) plans to rework its menu, retiring the Big ‘N’ Tasty sandwich and adding oatmeal to its national product lineup in January, Crain’s Chicago Business reported.
The chain also will replace the Mac Snack Wrap with an Angus Snack Wrap in August and expects to discontinue its fruit and walnut salad when it begins selling oatmeal, which it is currently testing in a few markets, Crain’s said on Wednesday, citing a company memo. The Big ‘N’ Tasty will be taken off the menu on Sept. 1.
In addition, frappes and smoothies will officially become part of the national menu on July 13 in conjunction with a national advertising campaign, Crain’s said, citing the memo from company executives to franchisees.
McDonald’s officials could not immediately be reached to comment. (Reporting by Ben Klayman in Detroit, editing by Maureen Bavdek)
