Six bidders eye German national daily - magazine

FRANKFURT, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Six interested parties including U.S. investment bank Goldman Sachs (GS.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) are considering the acquisition of the German newspaper publisher Sueddeutscher Verlag, Focus magazine reported on Saturday.

Along with German publishing houses Georg von Holtzbrinck, WAZ Group and M. DuMont Schauberg, three financial investors have been invited to take part in due diligence beginning Monday for the newspaper group, which publishes leading daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

The owners of the Sueddeutscher Verlag picked private equity firm Apax [APAX.UL], Goldman and media buyout specialist Veronis Suhler Stevenson.

Management will hold a presentation from Monday until Thursday in Munich, the magazine reported without citing sources.
