 LOS ANGELES, Nov 8 (Reuters) - Following are the top 10
films at the North American box office for the three-day
weekend beginning on Nov. 6, led by the new release "A
Christmas Carol," according to studio estimates compiled on
Sunday by Reuters.

 2 (1) This Is It ......... $14.0 million
 3 (*) The Men Who Stare at Goats ........ $13.3 million
 4 (*) The Fourth Kind .... $12.5 million
 5 (2) Paranormal Activity ............... $ 8.6 million
 6 (*) The Box ............ $ 7.9 million
 7 (4) Couples Retreat .... $ 6.4 million
 8 (3) Law Abiding Citizen ............... $ 6.2 million
 9 (5) Where the Wild Things Are.......... $ 4.2 million
10 (7) Astro Boy .......... $ 2.6 million

 "The Men Who Stare at Goats" and "Law Abiding Citizen" were
released by Overture Films, a unit of Liberty Media Corp
(LINTA.O).
 "The Fourth Kind" and "Couples Retreat" were released by
Universal Pictures, a unit of General Electric Co (GE.N).
 "Paranormal Activity" was released by Paramount Pictures, a
unit of Viacom Inc (VIAb.N).
 "The Box" and "Where the Wild Things Are" were released by
Warner Bros Pictures, a unit of Time Warner Inc (TWX.N).
 "Astro Boy" was released by Summit Entertainment, which is
closely held.
