FACTBOX-Potential takeover targets named by UBS report

Sept 14 (Reuters) - UBS UBSN.VX analysts identified 39 companies as potential takeover targets as companies look to mergers and acquisitions to boost their growth profile.
The companies include PepsiCo (PEP.N), Red Hat (RHT.N), Anadarko (APC.N) and CBOE Holdings (CBOE.O), UBS said in a research note on Tuesday.
UBS strategist Thomas Doerflinger said the forces driving M&A include a secular economic slowdown, low interest rates and potential buyers with strong balance sheets and ample cash.
The companies identified by UBS as potential targets -- along with what the brokerage called “plausible buyers” -- are in alphabetical order: Potential targets Plausible buyers AK Steel Holding Corp (AKS.N) Nucor Corp (NUE.N) Allergan Inc (AGN.N) GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK.N) Anadarko Petroleum Corp (APC.N) Larger oil & gas companies AOL Inc AOL.N Yahoo!
