EU Commission extends inquiry into AB Foods deal
BRUSSELS, May 16 (Reuters) - The European Commission has extended its competition review of plans by Associated British Foods (ABF.L: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) to buy some assets and subsidiaries of GB Ingredients BV of the Netherlands, the EU executive said on Friday.
By mutual agreement the deadline was extended from Aug. 28 to Sept. 25, the Commission said.
GB Ingredients is a producer of yeast. Associated British Foods sells food products including yeast. (Reporting by David Lawsky)
