GDF board to meet on Sunday over Suez merger-union
PARIS, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Gaz de France GAZ.PA will hold a board meeting on Sunday at 6 p.m. (1600 GMT) over a proposed merger with Suez (LYOE.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), a French trade union official said, adding the Suez board would also meet sometime on Sunday.
"The two board meetings have been called on Sunday, for GDF it is 1800, for Suez I don't know," an official at FO trade union told Reuters.
He also said that the plan on the table for the merger would leave the French state with a 34 percent stake in any merged firm.
A GDF spokesman declined to comment.
