Malaysia Airports group wins Istanbul airport deal
ANKARA, July 9 (Reuters) - A consortium of Malaysia Airports Holdings (MAHB.KL), India's GMR Infrastructure (GMRI.BO) and Turkey's Limak made a winning bid of 1.9 billion euros for Istanbul's second airport on Monday.
Mete Arslan, chairman of Turkey's Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) which ran the auction, said the price excluded 18 percent value-added tax.
The winner will build a new international terminal at the Sabiha Gokcen airport on Istanbul's Asian side and operate the airport for 20 years.
The other bidders were:
*Germany's Fraport (FRAG.DE), Turkey's IC Construction
*Turkey's Cukurova, Austria's Julius Meinl Investment, Venice Airport/Save SpA (SAVE.MI)
*Turkey's Mak-Yol Construction, Eti Bakir, U.S-based Airport Property Management
*Turkey's Esas Holding, TAV (TAVHL.IS)
