NEW YORK, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Playboy Enterprises Inc (PLA.N) is in talks to sell itself to Iconix Brand Group Inc (ICON.O), Bloomberg reported on Thursday, citing two people familiar with the situation.

Bloomberg said Iconix, which owns and licenses clothing brands including Candies, Joe Boxer and Rocawear, has looked at the men's magazine publisher's finances, citing one of the people. The article said the talks may not lead to a deal.

Playboy's shares rose 98 cents, or more than 34 percent, to $3.84 after the report.

Playboy declined to comment on the report. Iconix was not immediately available for a comment. (Reporting by Michael Erman, editing by Maureen Bavdek)
