Michael Dell's MSD investor in National City-source

NEW YORK (Reuters) - MSD Capital LP, an investment firm that manages capital of Michael Dell and his family, is one of the investors in National City Corp NCC.N, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday.

MSD Capital is a significant investor in the $985 million private equity capital component led by Corsair Capital, this person said.

Michael Dell is chief executive of computer maker Dell Inc (DELL.O).

National City, a large U.S. Midwest regional bank, said it is raising $7 billion of capital, slashed its dividend and posted a first-quarter loss.
