Oct 24 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals involving European, U.S. and Asian companies were reported by 2000 GMT on Friday.

** PNC Financial Services Group Inc (PNC.N) agreed to buy ailing National City Corp NCC.N in a government-supported $5.6 billion deal that will rescue the Ohio-based lender and create the No. 5 U.S. bank by deposits. To read more, please double click on [ID:nN24512798]

** General Motors Corp (GM.N) has intensified talks to buy Chrysler LLC's auto operations from Cerberus Capital Management in a deal that would also involve a transfer of ownership of GMAC, people familiar with the talks said. [ID:nNLO252013]

* Chrysler LLC said on Friday that it had received multiple bids on its Viper sports car business and was reviewing the offers. [ID:nN24529071]

** British Stockbroker Daniel Stewart Securities Plc (DAN.L) said on Friday that preliminary takeover talks with financial services group Dowgate Capital Plc (DGT.L) had ended. [ID:nBNG352585]

** Activist investor Laxey Partners Ltd has bought an initial 9.75 percent stake in The Real Hotel Co Plc TRHO.L, according to a filing to the London Stock Exchange. [ID:nBNG391174]

** Dutch competition watchdog NMa said it has approved BNP Paribas (BNPP.PA) buying a 35 percent stake in Anglo-Dutch private bank Insinger de Beaufort. [ID:nLO394979]

** Finland said it was ready to buy shares in Finnish companies in the coming years, and expects a deal to snap up at least 5 percent of telecom operator Elisa (ELI1V.HE) by the beginning of December. [ID:nLO620385]
