Turkish military says 22 Kurd rebels killed

ISTANBUL, July 15 (Reuters) - Turkish troops have killed 22 Kurdish guerrillas in an operation over the last five days in southeast Turkey, military headquarters said on Tuesday.

In a statement on its Web site, the General Staff said it had launched the operation in Sirnak province near the Iraqi border on July 11 after locating a group of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants there.
