Propane tank explosion mars Austin music festival

AUSTIN, Texas (Billboard) - Two people were critically injured and two others hurt after a fire broke out Friday during the Austin City Limits Festival in Austin.

The blaze, blamed on a propane tank attached to a trailer behind vendor tents at Zilker Park, sent thick, black smoke into the air.

It took some time before the fire department arrived on the scene, but the fire was contained within about 40 minutes of breaking out. It is understood that the critically injured pair were transported to the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Pete Yorn was playing on a nearby stage when the fire broke out; his set was briefly suspended, but fire officials allowed him to resume.
